THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation for Hungarian Graphic Art (AMGA) was founded in 1993 by the Association
of Hungarian Graphic Artists.
The primary purpose of the Foundation is the promotion of graphic art in Hungary.
It organizes and, by its professional presence, supports national biennials
and other events of graphic art.
The Foundation initiates the introduction of contemporary Hungarian artists
abroad and their taking part in international events. Depending on claims and
possibilities it also carries out expert activity and awarding of prizes and
has for eight years now been issuing the Graphic Art of the Year Award.
The Foundation holds in trust its graphic collection of more than a thousand
items the significance of which is constantly growing and the enhancing of which
is also an important task of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
The AMGA functions as a public utility foundation.
